III. Events:
Both men's and women's Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.0975km), 10km race and 5km race. National Marathon Championships and National Open-university Marathon will only have Men's and women's marathon (42.195km).

1. Marathon: The Start (Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center) -> Huandao Road -> Minzu Road -> Lujiang Road -> Hubinnan Road -> Hubinzhong Road -> Hubinbei Road -> Dongdu Road -> Hubinxi Road -> Lujiang Road -> Yanwu Bridge -> Huandao Road -> The Finish (Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center)

2. Half Marathon: The Start (Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center) -> Huandao Road -> Minzu Road -> Lujiang Road -> Hubinnan Road -> Hubinzhong Road -> The Finish (Eastern section of Hubinbei Road)

3. 10km: The Start (Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center) -> Huandao Road -> The Finish (Intersection at Siming Software Park)

4. 5km: The Start (Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center) -> Huandao Road The Finish (Entrance to Yunding Tunnel)

V. Entry Rules:

1. Age Categories:

1. Participants in Marathon or Half Marathon should be over 18, or born before January 5th, 1990.
2. Participants in 10km Race should be over 15, or born before January 5th, 1993.
3. Participants in 5km Race should be over 13, or born before January 5th, 1995.
   

2. Health Requirement:
All participants shall be physically healthy and often conducting running practice or obtaining running training. Participant is advised to register in the race upon his/her own physical condition and training status. People who fall into the following categories are advised NOT to participate in the marathon competition:

(1) those with congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease
(2) those with hypertension and cerebrovascular disease
(3) those with myocarditis and other heart disease
(4) those has serious coronary artery disease and serious arrhythmia
(5) diabetics with blood sugar of over top or over low
(6) others who are not suitable to sport

3. Registration:

1. Both individual and team registration will be accepted. All entrants are required to fill in the Entry Form (Form I) individually. Team registration can be made through organization including provincial or municipal governments, schools and associations, and is requested to fill in the Entry Form for Team Registration (Form II) with the official seals of the organization and attaching individual Entry Forms of team members.
2. Both the entry number limit of Marathon and of Half Marathon are 6000. Both the entry number limit of 10km and of 5km race are 9000. All the game entry number should be limited in 30,000.The entry will be stop, when the entry limit is met.
   

4. Registration Time:

1. Web Registration: Open for web registration during October 8, 2008 to December 16, 2007. The entry will be stop, when the entry limit is met.
2. Site Registration: Open for site registration during November 5 to December 16, 2007. The entry will be stop, when the entry limit is met.

5. Registration Charges:

1. Domestic entries (including Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan): RMB40.00 per person, with the exemption of entry charges for registration members of Chinese Athletic Association.
2. Overseas entries: USD 20.00 per person.
3. Student entries by team registration of the school or college: RMB15.00 per person.
4. Overtime registration: During December 17 to 29, domestic entries (including Hongkong, Macau and Taiwan): RMB80.00 per domestic person. Overseas entries: USD40.00 per person. Student entries by team application: RMB30.00 per person.

6. The runner should take charge ones own trip, accommodation, and buy the accident insurance by oneself.

VI. Rules:

1. The events are conducted in accordance with Rules and Regulations for Track & Field certified by International Association of Athletics Federations and Chinese Athletic Association.
2. One start for all races.
3. Gate closing time:

4. An electronic timing system will be used for recording results. All participants are required to wear a timing chip, which will be distributed upon a deposit of RMB 100. Deposits are refundable when chips are returned after the race at the Cloakroom.
5. Finishers of Marathon will receive a certificate at the competition secretariat upon the presentation of number bibs one hour after the race finishes.
6. Finishers of Half Marathon, 10km Race and 5km Race within gate closing time are requested to fill out the certificates with the finishing time of ones own shown on the calculagraph at the Finish.

8. Participants should buy accident insurance for themselves.
9. Doping controls will be carried out to all athletes.
   

VII. Recognition & Awards:

1. Marathon:
   (1) Awards for ranking finishers: Top eight finishers in Men's and Women's Marathon will be issued with bonus (in USD, see the chart below), one medal and one set of track suit. Trophies will be issued to top three in Men's and Women's.

   (2) National Marathon Championship: Each of the first eight participants will be awarded one model and one certificate, which should be registered in CAA.
   
   (3) National Open-University Marathon: Each of the first eight participants will be awarded one model and one certificate. Each of the first eight teams will be awarded one trophy cup and one certificate.
   
   (4) Time awards: Time awards should not be accumulated, the same person can be awarded the higher one only.
   Men:
   A. Awarded 10,000 USD dollars, who finished marathon within 2:09:59.
   B. Awarded 15,000 USD dollars, who finished marathon within 2:09:03(Xiamen Marathon Record).
   C. Awards 15,000 USD dollars and goods (150,000 RMB worth), who finished marathon within 2:09:03(Xiamen Marathon Record)and get the 2008 Xiamen International Marathon champion.
   
   Women:
   A. Awarded 5,000 USD dollars, who finished marathon within 2:24:00.
   B. Awarded 10,000 USD dollars, who finished marathon within 2:23:28(Xiamen Marathon Record).
   C. Awards 15,000 USD dollars and goods (150,000 RMB worth), who finished marathon within 2:09:03(Xiamen Marathon Record)and get the 2008 Xiamen International Marathon champion.
   D. World Records awards for men and women: Awarded 500,000 USD dollars for World Marathon Record breaking.
   
   5)Team Awards (in RMB)
   Within the gate closing time, if the total number of finishers of Full Marathon in both men¡¯s and women¡¯s reach:
   a. More than 200, RMB10000.00 will be awarded to the team.
   b. More than 150, RMB5000.00 will be awarded to the team.
   c. More than 100, RMB3000.00 will be awarded to the team.
   d. More than 50, RMB2000.00 will be awarded to the team.
   
   6) Full Marathon finishers within the gate closing time will be issued with souvenir medals, certificates and bath towels.
   
   
2. Half Marathon:
   (1) Awards for ranking finishers: Top eight finishers in Men's and Women's Half Marathon will be issued with bonus (in RMB, see the chart below), a certificate, one medal, and one set of track suit. Trophies will be issued to top three in Men's and Women's.
